I had a really positive experience at this office. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, which immediately helped ease my anxiety. I felt listened to and respected throughout my visit. I’m feeling hopeful and encouraged after meeting with Hyrum Candland, and I believe my sessions with him will be truly beneficial. I’m glad I took this step and would recommend this practice to ANYONE seeking support. Looking forward to my next visit.

I have had nearly a dozen ketamine journeys at Unchained Wellness in Gilbert, Arizona.
Hyrum Candland is the leader of this phenomenal team of healthcare healer's. He sets a calm but joyful tone for the entire team and space. Whether one comes for individual psychiatric or psychological counseling, his affable nature leaves one wanting more time in his presence.
They greet me with warmth and love when I walk through the door and remember my name. They remember what I need and where I'm supposed to go.
Marla seems to be everywhere at the same time, taking care of patients, stuffing me in to the hyperbaric oxygen, tank or the ice bath, or the infrared summer.
She does her job with grace and elegance. It makes coming to this place a pure joy.
Amanda keeps tabs on the comings and goings and the money and the insurance. She relates very well to those of us who journey through the often treacherous pathways around mental health and makes sure each patient feels valued and matters.
Jonathan is the freak. His crazy hair and enchanting smile makes the ketamine IV's drip with love and light. He always hits my veins one poke I intends to my needs, whether that be eye masks or blankets or pillows. I love him.
I hope everyone who struggles with their wellness gets a chance to walk through these doors and be healed as I am being healed

What We Treat
Conditions We Treat
Individualized treatment plans for the conditions you're facing.
Our wellness center helps our patients by creating individualized treatment plans based on their unique needs in order to ensure that they reduce side effects and achieve their mental healthcare goals. What are the conditions that we can currently treat?
If you or a loved one suffers from depression or major depressive disorder (MDD), anxious depression caused by anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or PTSD, we have the expertise as well as state-of-the-art technology that can help. Ask about our non-invasive TMS Therapy or Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation.
MagVenture technology meets integrative psychiatry for treatment-resistant cases.
TMS therapy, also known as transcranial magnetic stimulation, was initially authorized by the FDA in 2008 for treating severe depression or MDD. Unchained Psychiatry & Wellness chose to invest in MagVenture TMS technology due to its effectiveness in helping people with treatment-resistant depression.
Our Primary Treatments
TMS, Spravato & IV Ketamine
Magnetic Brain Stimulation
TMS Therapy
TMS therapy is a non-invasive outpatient medical treatment that uses magnetic fields to stimulate specific areas of the brain. It has been FDA-cleared for the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and is also being studied for its potential effectiveness in treating a variety of other mental health conditions, including bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), pain, and addiction.
IV Ketamine has been used clinically since the 1960s and can provide relief from depressive symptoms within hours. It is administered intravenously in a controlled, supervised setting and is often used for treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, and chronic pain. Many patients combine IV Ketamine with TMS therapy for layered, complementary results.
Spravato is the only FDA-approved esketamine nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression and depression with suicidal ideation. Administered in-clinic under REMS supervision, Spravato is covered by most major insurance plans and offers a non-IV alternative for patients seeking rapid relief.
Are you experiencing feelings of sadness, nervousness, irritability, or restlessness? These symptoms are associated with two types of mental disorders: depression and anxiety. To assess the severity of your depressive symptoms and their rate of change, you can take a self-assessment called the PHQ-9. We've made it convenient to take brief mental health quizzes or assessments. Simply click any one of the buttons below. The best part? We do not collect your personal information.

TMS Therapy Reviews
Hear directly from patients whose lives changed after TMS therapy at Unchained Wellness.
Antidepressants helped to some degree but the effectiveness would eventually wear off. While searching online for a psychiatrist, I became aware of TMS and hoped this might work and I am just glad I still had hope and had this treatment done.”
I suffered from depression for 15+ years and tried the usual drugs, including Prozac and Celexa, but they made me feel like a zombie. When I heard about TMS, I was reluctant but my psychiatrist encouraged me to try it and I'm glad. After just 3 sessions, the improvement was remarkable.”
The Science
How Does TMS Therapy Work?
TMS therapy is a safe and effective outpatient treatment that utilizes magnetic pulses to stimulate inactive parts of the brain. It utilizes electromagnetic fields generated by specially designed coils to safely reach deep brain structures and influence neural activity.
It is often used when traditional antidepressant medications have failed to produce satisfactory results for the patient. TMS therapy does not require any surgical procedures or skin puncturing. Patients have reported only minor side effects, such as mild scalp discomfort at the treatment site and headaches, which are generally managed with over-the-counter pain medication. These side effects typically resolve within the first week of treatment.
Non-Invasive & Drug-FreeMagnetic pulses stimulate the brain without surgery, medication, or skin puncturing.
FDA-Cleared Since 2008First authorized for Major Depressive Disorder; now backed by 15+ years of clinical use.
Minor, Short-Lived Side EffectsMild scalp discomfort or headache — typically resolved within the first week of treatment.

Our team is committed to supporting clients at every step of their journey, with a clear mission to improve well-being and quality of life.
How do you create a personalized treatment plan?
We start by listening to your symptoms, health history, and what you want your life to look like moving forward. Our providers then build a personalized treatment plan with individualized treatment plans that may include therapy, medications, and other tools that support healing. We aim to make sure each treatment plan fits the patient, not the other way around.
Do you treat past traumas, PTSD, and bipolar disorder?
Yes. We help patients work through past traumas and treat conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder and bipolar disorder. Care may include therapy, medications, and other supportive approaches to help you overcome difficult symptoms and regain a sense of control, hope, and stability.
Can you support physical health concerns like chronic pain, gut health, injury recovery, or diabetes?
We can support physical concerns alongside mental health, especially when symptoms overlap. Many clients dealing with pain, gut issues, or recovery after an injury also experience stress, anxiety, or mood changes. Depending on your needs, we may coordinate with internal medicine providers for diabetes or other medical concerns so your care reflects the right combination of support.

To get access to care, contact our clinic to schedule a consultation. Our dedicated team will answer questions, help you understand next steps, and guide you toward the support you deserve. We strive to make starting care simple so you can focus on healing and moving forward.
What makes Unchained a wellness center instead of a typical clinic?

Our providers focus on quality care and a clear mission: help clients regain control, restore hope, and keep moving forward on a healthier journey.

We start with your symptoms, history, and goals, then create personalized treatment services that fit you. Your treatment services may include therapy, medications, and coordinated support, and it is always adjusted over time based on how you feel and what is working. This approach helps empower clients with individualized treatment plans instead of one-size-fits-all care.
Can your wellness center help with post-traumatic stress disorder and related symptoms?
Yes. Can you help with post-traumatic stress disorder when symptoms affect daily life, relationships, and your sense of control? Our providers offer services that support healing and help you discover practical tools for coping. If needed, we can also coordinate with internal medicine so your care reflects the right combination of support for both wellness and physical needs in Arizona.
Does Unchained accept insurance for TMS or Spravato?
Yes. TMS and Spravato are covered by most major insurance plans including UHC, Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, and Medicare for eligible patients. IV Ketamine and UVBI + Ozone are typically self-pay. Call us to verify your benefits.
What is the difference between Spravato and IV Ketamine?
Spravato (esketamine) is FDA-approved, administered as a nasal spray in-clinic, and typically covered by insurance. IV Ketamine is infused intravenously, works faster, and is self-pay. Both target glutamate pathways for rapid relief from depression.
Do you offer TMS for anxiety, PTSD, or OCD — not just depression?
Yes. TMS is FDA-cleared for depression and OCD, and is widely used clinically for anxiety and PTSD. We create a personalized TMS protocol based on your specific condition.
